Grass covered and under the trees with lots of shade.

Swim Courses

The swim will take place in the shallow and calm waters of the Gordon Pittock Reservoir.

3 to 5, 6 to 7 and 8 to 9 swim courses will all run parrellel to shore in water that is shallow enough to touch.

10 to 11, 12-13 and 14-15 course will travel into deeper water and will follow a left-handed loop keeping ALL buoys on the LEFT.

Turn buoys will be marked with Large (5.5ft) Lime Green Tetrahedrons and intermediate buoys (i.e. not a turn) are marked with 40” Orange Spheres.  Water temperature is projected to be in/around 74F by race day with good to excellent water quality.

Run Courses

The 3 to 5 year olds do a short run inside the race site, while all other races head West across the grass.

All other race courses travels West from Transition across 300m of grass to reach the gravel access road that leads to the dam across the Gordon Pittock Reservoir.

The 6 to 7 year olds turn-around shortly after reaching the gravel road and the 8 to 9 year olds turn-around further down the same road.

The 10 to 11 year olds course then turns South and onto the concrete dam and turns-around at the North end of the dam.

The 12 to 13 and 14 to 15 year olds courses head South across the dam.  NOTE - Please watch your step pass through the gate crossing the section over the spillway.  Staff from Upper Thames River Conservation Area will be in-place to monitor this area.

The 12 to 13 year olds turn-around just after the gates while the 14 to 15 year olds continue all the way to the South end of the dam.

When 14 to 15 year olds course reaches the South end of the dam (just off the parking lot at the North end of Rivercrest Rd) the course turns right and descends back to the level of the river for the final 500m to the turn-around.  This section is run on a level crushed limestone trail.

All courses above 3 to 5 are out-&-back in nature

There will be an aid station for 10 to 11, 12 to 13 and 14 to 15.  The Aid stations will have Water and Infinit Nutrition.

FINISH LINE

The Finish Line is on grass adjacent to the Registration and Transition Areas.  There is plenty of shade trees in the area and you can even hop back in the lake to cool-down after your race!

Participation Medals

The Ontario Association of Triathletes is no longer providing participation medals for children's races. MultiSport Canada has decided to provide a participation medal to all the participants.
Mike Cheliak will be onsite and taking pictures of all of the kids events. Here is a sample of Mike's work.

Mike Cheliak Photography has been part of the MultiSport Triathlon Series since 2003. Photos from all the events will be posted online and you will be able to browse, share and purchase any of the photos in small digital, full resolution digital or printed formats up to a full poster size 24x36! As has been the practice; we continue to provide the race day awards and the Mike Cheliak Shot of the Race program.

Instead of Draw Prizes - A Gift For Every Child

You might not believe this but for some reason it is particularly difficult to get draw prizes for children's events, especially covering all age groups. We know that many parents like to see draw prizes or the possibility of a memento other than the participation medal so we think we have come up with a great solution.

We are happy this year to be providing the KOS participants in the MultiSport series a new a fun award to enjoy and to help celebrate the great effort all the athletes put forth in these races. As in the past, we have always taken a group photo of each age during the post race ceremonies. Mike Cheliak and MultiSport Canada are now going to be offering each and every KOS participant a 100% free download of the full resolution digital file of their group shot. The file will be print ready for a 5x7 photo with a race logo and the date.

We hope everyone will take advantage of this free commemorative photo to celebrate your little athletes after their hard race! The download links will be posted on www.mysportsshooter.com along with the race photo galleries from the day.

Thank you for racing in the MultiSport Canada Triathlon Series!
