Du the Double, Provincial Championships & 2017 ITU Standard Duathlon Qualifier at Gravenhurst
Provincials and Qualification Spots
Saturday’s International Distance Duathlon and Sunday’s Sprint Duathlon will serve as Triathlon Ontario Provincial Championships. Participants must be Triathlon Ontario members prior to the start of the race to be eligible for the Championships. The overall winners in each distance in each gender will be recognized as Provincial Champions and celebrated at the Annual Awards Banquet.
The Standard Duathlon event will also have two automatic national qualification spots for each gender in each age division for the honour of representing Canada on home soil at the 2017 ITU Age Group Duathlon World Championships in Penticton, British Columbia.
Since the Sprint Duathlon event at World Championships are draft legal, all qualification events must also be draft legal. Therefore, there will be no National Qualifiers in Ontario in 2016 for the Sprint Duathlon Distance for the 2017 ITU Age Group Duathlon World Championships.
