Bala Falls To Return In 2017

“For the past fifteen years MultiSport Canada has been a leader in working with Triathlon Ontario and various stakeholders to help introduce athletes to the sports of Triathlon and Duathlon and in collaborating to ensure success. With last week’s announcement of the National Championships in Ottawa on July 23/24, we feel it is in the best interest of the sport to cancel our Bala event scheduled for that same weekend. This will give many of the athletes who would normally race in Bala the opportunity to compete at the National Championships and we hope to see those athletes back in Bala in 2017.

We make this decision with heavy hearts and genuine disappointment. Jason, I and the team at Multisport Canada would like to be crystal clear that this decision was not taken lightly and was among our most difficult in 15 years of successfully serving you, the Ontario athlete. Given the circumstances however, we feel we should be supportive of Triathlon Canada, Triathlon Ontario and Ontario athletes and truly regret that one of Ontario’s longest running grass root events will not be able to take place.” – John Salt, Founder – MultiSport Canada

All those registered for Bala Falls will receive a full refund as well as a discount voucher for our race in Bracebridge.
