From Triathlon Ontario: Lakeside to host the Inaugural Youth Club Championship and Youth Cup Series Finale

Triathlon Ontario, the recognized Provincial Governing Body of Multisport in Ontario, announced today the Recharge With Milk MultiSport Canada Lakeside Kids of Steel will serve as host of the Inaugural Youth Club Championship on September 10, 2016.

The non-drafting Lakeside event will once again be the Youth Cup Series finale for both the 12-13 and 14-15 age divisions.

triathlonseries-lakeside-201510271127.pngThe new annual Youth CCs will help to encourage the growth and development of the youth club system in Ontario, while promoting friendly competition between clubs in a sanctioned environment.

The prize(s) have yet to be determined but a new Youth Club Championship trophy is currently being commissioned.  The winning club will be permanently engraved on the trophy and celebrated at the annual year end Awards Banquet.

Points can be scored by club members by finishing position as well as participation in either the 12-13 or 14-15 age category.  For more details on the scoring and eligibility please see Triathlon Ontario’s website.

Youth Cup Series

MultiSport Canada’s Lakeside KOS will once again host the final stop on this year’s 2016 Youth Cup Series.   This will be the fourth year of the popular Series.  Both the 12-13 and 14-15 age divisions in the Series will consist of a best three of four results format counting in the final point tally.  The remaining three venues will be announced shortly.

Winners of the individual events will receive medals and the winners of the overall Series will receive individual trophies as well as have their names engraved on the permanent Series trophies, soon to be displayed at Triathlon Ontario’s home at the Milton Velodrome.

Participants must be Triathlon Ontario members for their results to count in the standings.
