Bike 4 Betty Draw

We had a few great prizes left over from the 2010 race season and thought it a good idea to use them to help a good cause. Gears Bike Shop is the Official Retail Bike Sponsor of the MultiSport Canada Triathlon Series. Gears owners, Kevin Wallace and Ira Kargel, are committed to working in and with the community and for the past three years Gears has organized and produced Bike 4 Betty.

Bike 4 Betty is a fundraising event where cyclists from novice to professional ride a choice of five routes, with the longest including a challenging circuit west towards the Niagara Escarpment. Young, old and everyone in between have biked for ‘Betty’ who represents all the courageous women in our community and their families whose lives are touched by cancer. We decided to raffle off a Zoot wetsuit, Zoot Compression socks, Timex watches and entries to two races in 2011.

Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket. We were able to raise over $600 for the Betty Wallace Women's Health Centre.
